Description
During the years following the Civil War, Wyoming, Dakota, and Montana territories seethed with unrest as the Sioux and Cheyenne Indians, resenting the white man's invasion of their sacred hunting grounds, ruthlessly attacked wagon trains and settlements. From its scattered forts the Army struggled to keep peace, but every cavalryman going on patrol realized that it might be his last.
