Philip Kerr is a British author and is writer of both adult fiction and non-fiction. Kerr is best known for the Bernie Gunther series of historical thrillers set in Germany and elsewhere during the 1930s, the Second World War and the Cold War. Kerr has previously been named a winner of Granta's Best Young British Novelists. If the Dead Rise Not won one of the most prestigious and lucrative crime fiction awards, the RBA International Prize for Crime Writing.
