Patricia Cornwell is a contemporary American crime writer. She is widely known for writing a popular series of novels featuring the heroine Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a medical examiner. Her books have sold more than 100 million copies. Postmortem was Cornwell’s first published novel which paved the way for forensic thrillers, not only encapsulated in books but across across film and television too. Patricia’s novels centre primarily on medical examiner Kay Scarpetta along with her tech-savvy niece Lucy and fellow investigator Pete Marino. Celebrating 25 years, these characters have grown into an international phenomenon, winning Cornwell the Sherlock Award for best detective created by an American author, the Gold Dagger Award, the RBA Thriller Award, and the Medal of Chevalier. Patricia Cornwell’s titles have proven popular in libraries since the birth of Postmortem and continues to succeed in popularity.
